A roughly 7,000 sq m patch of old woodland along the Yanase River. Hayao Miyazaki is said to have worked out the ideas for My Neighbor Totoro while walking here, and he donated money to save it from development; since 1997 Higashimurayama and Tokorozawa have bought and preserved the land.
