How to use
Top switch (SNS / TORACO / RADAR)
Choose what Home shows: posts, Toraco's Room or RADAR
At the top of Home there's a switch with "SNS", "TORACO" and "RADAR". Tap one and the screen changes right there.
SNS shows everyone's trip posts, TORACO is Toraco's Room (chat, dress-up and mini games), and RADAR is where you find travelers and local treasures nearby.
Your last choice is remembered on this device, and Home opens to it next time.
Explore
Find spots by name, area or anime title
Open "Explore" from the menu to find spots by name or area.
Pick an anime title to list the spots related to it.
Set the button at the top right to "Map" to search on the map. "List" takes you back.
Map
Browse the map by area and genre
On Explore, set the button at the top right to "Map" to open the map.
Filter by area and by genre.
Select a pin to see a summary of the spot, and open Google Maps from the directions link.
Asking Toraco
Tell Toraco what you like and she suggests spots
In "TORACO" (Toraco's Room) on Home, tell Toraco which title or area you're interested in and she'll suggest spots from the ones registered in the app.
If you mention a number of days, such as "two days", she may suggest a day-by-day plan. You can put suggestions straight into a trip.
She doesn't suggest places that aren't in the data. At busy times and in some other cases, replies may be preset ones.
Spot pages and "Want to go"
Look at a spot, save it or add it to a trip
A spot page shows its description, a map, nearby spots and posts from other travelers. If there is an official site, a link appears.
Tap "Want to go" to save a spot; you can find it later under Saved in Explore.
"Add to trip" lets you choose one of your trips or start a new one.
Trips
Line up your stops and shape the day
You can keep as many trips as you like. Changing the order, day, start time or duration of a stop reschedules the stops after it.
Travel times are estimates. Check the actual route and time with the Google Maps link for each leg.
While you're logged out, trips are kept on this device. Once logged in, you can save a trip to your account and attach it to a post.
Posts, comments and notifications
Share photos and trips, and hear back
Tap "+" on Home to post one photo with a few words (login required). You can attach a spot and one of your saved trips. Posts are public.
A trip attached to a post can be viewed by anyone. The travel dates are not shown to others until the trip is over.
Open a post to like it or comment. You can also reply to comments.
Comments and likes on your posts, and replies and likes on your comments, arrive under the bell in the header.
Reporting and deleting
Report inappropriate posts, delete your own
You can report an inappropriate post or comment from its "⋯" menu.
You can delete your own posts and comments from the same menu.
Quests and points
Visit spots and collect points
Accept a quest from "Quests" in the menu to check in at its spots. Check-in confirms where you are, so location permission is needed.
You can have one quest accepted at a time. Accepting one adds the quest's itinerary to your trips.
You earn points by checking in and by posting a photo at a photo spot. You can spend points in Toraco's Room on outfits, rooms and more for Toraco. Points have no monetary value.
We plan to expand quests and points over time.
Play with Toraco (mini games)
Play games and earn points from today's missions
Open the list of games from "Play with Toraco" at the top left of "TORACO" (Toraco's Room) on Home. You can play without logging in. On a game screen, "Quit" at the top left takes you back to the list of games.
When you're logged in, clearing one of today's missions (for example, playing once) earns points. Missions reset every day at 0:00 Japan time, and each mission gives points once a day.
Toraco's Room (dress-up)
Collect outfits, hairstyles, rooms and voices for Toraco with your points
Open it from "Dress up" at the top left of "TORACO" (Toraco's Room) on Home. Pick an outfit, hairstyle, accessory, room or voice and Toraco changes right away so you can try it, including items you don't own yet. Press Confirm to save; closing without it puts everything back.
You can try on any item, even ones you don't own yet. When you're logged in, you can get everything you're trying on at once with the points you earn from quests and mini games (your new look is confirmed right away). Outfit and hair colors are free to choose for any outfit or hairstyle you own. Visiting Toraco's Room and confirming a new look grows your "bond"; as its level rises, more items become available (tap the ♥ at the top of the screen for details). Without logging in, you can confirm only the starting items and colors, and your choices are remembered on this device.
TORACON RADAR
Find travelers nearby and send Let's Meet to meet up
Choose "RADAR" with the switch on Home. The map also shows photo spots and travelers' tomes nearby. Location permission is required.
You need to log in to see travelers nearby and to share your location. The first time you turn sharing on, we ask you to confirm you're 18 or older.
While sharing, your exact location is visible to everyone who's logged in. Sharing stays on until you turn it off, and your location is sent while you use other screens too ("Sharing location" shows at the bottom left). After you close the app, your last location stays visible for 3 hours. Turning sharing off removes your location right away. Don't share at home or where you're staying.
Pick a traveler to see their dressed-up Toraco, favorite titles and a short message. When you both press Let's Meet, Toraco picks a place to meet (you'll be notified on any screen, and requests disappear after 10 minutes). Let's Meet is the only interaction. You can block or report a traveler if anything goes wrong.
Traveler's tome
Toraco's travel diary and travelers' notes, readable only on the spot
Open it from the RADAR map or a spot's page. It only opens when you're there (login required).
The first page is Toraco's travel diary, followed by notes left by other travelers.
Notes can be up to 200 characters, and you can leave up to 3 per spot per day. You can delete your own notes and report inappropriate ones.
Local Toraco (photo spots)
Get local items and a photo with Toraco at photo spots
Visit a photo spot shown on the RADAR map to get local items (outfits and decorations) you can only get there (login required).
Local outfits are spread around Tokyo to match each place: a dog kigurumi at the Hachiko Statue in Shibuya, an owl at the Ikefukuro statue in Ikebukuro, a panda at Ueno Zoo and a cat at Shinjuku East Exit; a happi coat at Kaminarimon in Asakusa, a shrine maiden outfit at Kanda Myojin, a hakama at Yushima Tenmangu, Harajuku Pop on Takeshita Street and a marine outfit at Odaiba Kaihin Park. The wardrobe also shows where to get each one.
Open the camera to take a photo with Toraco. Drag Toraco with your finger and pinch to resize. If the camera isn't available, you can take one in front of the spot's illustration instead.
You can hang your photos in Toraco's Room.
